Books, Booze, and Brains
After the Indianapolis March for Science in 2017, our team offered an inspiring and ambitious vision for the scientific community in our city through several bold asks during the Week Of Action aimed at scientists and science enthusiasts.
Inspired by the March, a local scientists, Dr Cari Lewis-Tsinovoi, decided to start a science themed book club that could bring scientists and the public together through popular books centered on science. She brought together several major partners (Indiana Humanities, Indiana State Museum, and Central Indiana Science Outreach) to make this idea a reality.
Books, Booze, and Brains has filled local bars to capacity every month we have held an event. This program is a powerful example of how scientists, grassroots movements, and humanities can work together to engage local communities in new and exciting ways!
Join us for our monthly meetings, currently held virtually, from the comfort of your own home to talk about recent popular science books. A local scientist whose research relates to the book topic will join us to share insights and help guide the conversation.
